My baby is named Maximus, but Maxxy for short, or just Max… I call him “Little”… So I am always saying Hey Little…. He is my baby boy… I call him Pooh too, like Winnie the Pooh… I love my little munchkin!

my chihuahua had her puppies yesterday. i’m not sure if she delivered her placenta because i noticed something that looked like a greenish blackish string sticking out of her vagina. she is discharging something greenish and blackish with some blood from her vagina and when i touch her head it is very warm. is she sick or is the discharge normal.

Sounds like no-one bothered to read anything about chi’s before they went shopping. chi’s bark. they constantly look for food. (its in their genes) they are stubborn. and they need constant attention and love. the more you hold them the more they love you. they will protect you from feathers and the wind and will attack a rottweiler to save you not knowing they could be lunch. they may be naturally aggressive to others that don’t belong to their “pack” but they are the most loving, loyal and smartest little buddy’s you could ever give your heart to. try a dogie daycare while your at work to curb the daytime barking.

My chihuahua barks whenever someone knocks at the door so i grab her and put my hand around her mouth but she still growls sometimes i say NO in a mad voice and put her in her timeout kennel but that still dosen’t work why doesn’t she stop?

I forgot to say my male Chihuahua is Bandit,My new baby girl is Bella. My old Chihuahua that is in dog heaven his name was Tip he had a little white tip on the end of his tail that how he got his name.

I have 2 Chihuahua’s one 5 yrs old (male fawn and white teacup) Wts 2.5 ozs. Have a new one I got for a Christmas present Black female another teacup. They are my children, I had one for 18 yrs old he died on Nov.the 2th and I am still not over it .He went everywhere with me. He was dark brown until he starting getting old like me then he had gray hair in a few places.He is buried beside my house and I keep flowers on his grave.I can’t hardly type about him without crying
Your Chihuahua is beautiful all of them all. I just love everyone of them they are so small and sweet.
Since I am a older lady they keep me company.

One more question his ears have not stood up yet do you think they ever will. And what is the average age of a chi for there ears to stand up his brother and sisters ears were up at six weeks.

I have had that same experience with my chi Tucker he sometimes acts as though he has asma he cant catch his breath it scares the crap out of me the vet says he will out grow it but I dont think so because his mother has the same problem what do you suggest.

I think that that is really stupid to arrest him just for4 having a dog in his suitcase. Its not like the dog was full of drugs or a bomb!!!! that is really messed up.

My 2 year old Chihuahua has been licking herself a lot last couple of days everything else is perfectly normal. I took a closer look and her behind looks a bit inflamed. Her bowel movements and eating are fine. Is this something I should worry about?

I have just read your beautiful story about Olive and it made me cry. Such a happy ending and I am so glad she is ok.

I have had three scares with my baby. No. 1 …. Where the hell are you???? When he was about six months old I spent hours hunting for him… devastated after bringing in several friends to help me in my distress. Then… a soft shell little dog house I had that I use to fill with all his soft toys started to move…. He was asleep in the middle…
No. 2 He got a tick… it was not a paralysis tick which is well known where I live for killing dogs much bigger than my 2 kilo chi. He wen’t all silly and wobbley…. fluids and a few hours at the vet and he came good. Phew…..!!!
No. 3 He was really lucky this time. I had a 5 metre scrub python at my back door winding around lattice work on my building. The snake handlers who came to take it away said the snake was certainly after my dog.

Protecting him from harm is a bid deal to me…. otherwise he is the best friend/pet/dog you could ever ask for.

I think life would be really sad without him.

I hope Olive lives a very long happy life XXXX

I’m so glad she made it! Because of the potential for arthritis you might want to ask teh vet about putting her on glucosamine supplements.

that’s so touching! i too have a deerhead chihuahua..wasn’t thinking about having a dog till a woman was crying one day at a clinic i was going to. she said she didn’t have any where to take the dog..out of nowhere i said “i can babysit!”, paco was just the sweetest dog! needless to say after months of the usual drop off paco, “i’ve got to go to detox” she ended putting the dog in the shelter…i tracked her down, insisted that we go to the shelter that minute and i would pay to get him out, but out of her mouth came” look, i’m too stressed out and besides i’m thinking of adopting two more chihuahuas and breeding them…” any way, skip the rest and now paco has been living here with me in my studio and has an adopted daddy he chose himself of a friend of mine…his presence has brought alot of happiness to those all around us, wherever we go everyone pays and looks to him for attention….i don’t believe a better companion could have come along…………………thank you for sharing…
