we all have a cute and funny chihuahua names that we have given to our chihuahua that came about to describe something that is unique or characteristic of them.

teaka the famous chihuahua has several humorous and cute nicknames that are descriptive of her unique and quirky personality.  here are some examples:

“mussillu” – a family favorite. pronounced “moo see loo”. italian for “little snout” because her little nose is one of her cutest features. you can see it well in her ‘teaka gets a bath’ video above!

“bella” – italian for “beautiful” because she is beautiful with a shiny and healthy fur coat!

“pupillu” or “puparella” – nana’s favorite. pronounced ‘poo pee loo’ and ‘poo pa rella’. italian for a little doll, like one might make reference to a little child.

“trouble” – teaka can be quite mischievous at times so we might say to her when she enters a room, “oh look. here comes trouble …”

“killer” – a neighborhood favorite. when teaka goes for a walk she likes to let people know she is boss with her ‘big’ bark.

“the mexican” – teaka is actually from mexico so it just makes sense! (no pun intended!).

“mooch” – pretty self explanatory. she just happens to appear whenever you have food.

“little brown” – we call teaka this because she looks like a little racehorse when she runs, just like “big brown”, the horse that won the 2008 kentucky derby.

“little girl” – mommy’s favorite, because that’s exactly what she is, my sweet little girl.

selecting chihuahua puppy names for your chihuahua can be loads of fun especially when the entire family gets involved.

She is the light of our lives.

  5. Kim in Florida

My tan and white gentle apple head Chi (Princess) Fiona loves people even more than dogs. She thinks she’s a human herself. My grandmother warned me when I got her to only call her by one name not to confuse her. But, by golly, she’s smart as I’ve learned Chihuahuas usually are. And I now have a lot of nicknames I affectionately call her.

My main name for her is “Nini.”

I call her “Prinny” that stands for Pretty girl.

    And Yona, short for Fiona.

Princess de Nini and Prettiest Girl in the World are a couple more.

Sometime I’ve called her Peanut. But that’s only in reference when a neighbor called her a peanut with legs due to her color. lol

I have two other Chis, but they’re deaf. So I find I only have one nickname for them. Bcs their names are more for Fiona to know who I’m referring to. Sometimes she’ll go wake them up for me when I get home. It’s so cute. 🙂

The neighbors have referred to my three Chi’s as the neighborhood watch crew. They make sure strangers keep walking and don’t linger by my building.

  6. Allison

I named my first Chihuahua, Chooch, since she was last in the line of dogs that follow me around the house so I keep thinking of a train and choo choo so Chooch came out of that. The Chihuahua I have now is named Bean. I actually named her before I adopted her, I felt that was a good name for a Chi. It fits her great. I also call her Jelly Bean, Vanilla Bean, Jumping Bean, Beannie Baby, String Bean!

  7. jessica

I didn’t know a lot about chi’s when I got my 2nd, but she looked like a little elegant deer, eventually i realized she looked like a miniature gazelle, so that her name, we call her “mini”. My favorite movie is “the birdcage”. There is a scene where the guatemalan maid says “but we got chrimps” so his name is chrimp but no one understands so it gets shortened…that’s right they get called…..min and rimpy. ps i had no idea they would change my life so completely, i won’t even go on vacation without them.

  8. Rachel

My eldest boy (3) is called Nipper because of his size but as he now goes for the postmans trousers also cos he bites. My little boy (2) is called Pickle or Ickle Pickle or Baby Boy & he IS my baby. Nearly lost him a month ago through a dog attack but he performed a miracle and came through it, I spoil him even more now!

  9. LittleMingo
