share your chihuahua’s nick name!

we all have a cute and funny chihuahua names that we have given to our chihuahua that came about to describe something that is unique or characteristic of them.

teaka the famous chihuahua has several humorous and cute nicknames that are descriptive of her unique and quirky personality.  here are some examples:

“mussillu” – a family favorite. pronounced “moo see loo”. italian for “little snout” because her little nose is one of her cutest features. you can see it well in her ‘teaka gets a bath’ video above!

“bella” – italian for “beautiful” because she is beautiful with a shiny and healthy fur coat!

“pupillu” or “puparella” – nana’s favorite. pronounced ‘poo pee loo’ and ‘poo pa rella’. italian for a little doll, like one might make reference to a little child.

“trouble” – teaka can be quite mischievous at times so we might say to her when she enters a room, “oh look. here comes trouble …”

“killer” – a neighborhood favorite. when teaka goes for a walk she likes to let people know she is boss with her ‘big’ bark.

“the mexican” – teaka is actually from mexico so it just makes sense! (no pun intended!).

“mooch” – pretty self explanatory. she just happens to appear whenever you have food.

“little brown” – we call teaka this because she looks like a little racehorse when she runs, just like “big brown”, the horse that won the 2008 kentucky derby.

“little girl” – mommy’s favorite, because that’s exactly what she is, my sweet little girl.

selecting chihuahua puppy names for your chihuahua can be loads of fun especially when the entire family gets involved.

  • i have a 11/2 year old chihuahua i adopted 6 months ago named Rocco. However more often than not he is called by his numerous nicknames, my dad calls him “little man” i call him “rockchini (rock- chee-nee) my brother calls him “spout” and my mom calls him “Rocky tocky”

Lol. I mostly call him “lil boy” as well.

  • I have Yogi O’Mogi (5) (known as Mogy), RoxSand (5) (AKA PupPet), DeDeAnna (4), and Binston DoLittle (1) (known as the Little Prince or BinkyBoy). If I knew having Chihuahuas was so wonderful, I would have given up on big dogs years before.

  • I have 4 Chi’s all have tons of nicknames. Their real names are: Mr. Pants, Stella, Domino & Peanut. Now Mr. Pants gets called bubs, doobies, Mr. “Whatever his mood is” ie: Mr. Cranky Pants. Domino gets called Noomies, Dahmer etc. Peanut gets called nutter butter and Stella is the newbie, she hasn’t aquired many yet, just cupcake since she’s only 13 oz right now, batmouth & itty bitty. Lol Cali would have been 10, she just passed away, her nicknames were classic. She was never called Cali, mostly Toobie, bus, bazoozoo, mamas and grandma. twitter.com/o0ochillyo0o

  • Rufio loves to go visit his (human) grandparents, and gets reeeaalllyy excited when he finally sees them, so I think you can probably figure out why my dad calls him “Squirts” lol

  • My little girl has many names. She is my first Chihuahua and I thought it fiting that she should have a Spanish name. Her call name is Cula for Sweetie. Her full name is Missy Johanna Chula Joy Little Bird Star Butt Amen. Missy because one of my favorite dogs was named Mister. Johanna, for God’s blessing, Chula Joy since she is a sweet joy. Little bird for the little noises she made as a pup. Star Butt , a take off on of course Starbucks, because of the markings on her behinder. Amen since I already have four cats and a redbone coonhound and enough is enough. By the way she gets on great with both the coon hound and the cats, though I sometimes have to remind her the cats don’t enjoy being chased.

I’m glad I came upon this website, much fun.

  • Our chihuahua was ‘inherited’ from my sister, who couldn’t take care of him, since she had very young children. His original name was ‘Buddy’, but we mulled it over and re-named him ‘Mojo’. He is a character, and I sometimes call him Mokey, like Smokey, and little butt, for obvious reasons, and many more, depending on my mood, and how naughty he’s being. But we love him more than we ever imagined we could. He fits in with our other dog, Ginger, a mixed breed Golden/Collie. Mojo rules the roost!!

  • I HAVE THREE CHIHUAHUA’S ONE I HAVE HAD FOR 7 YEARS HER NAME IS PEACHES BECAUSE WHEN SHE WAS BORN SHE LOOKED JUST LIKE ONE .MY SECOND ONE IS A MALE HE WAS GIVEN TO ME AFTER MY DAD PAST AWAY HIS NAME IS CHULO. AND THRID BUT NOT LEAST IS A CHIHUAHUA RESUED HER NAME IS LLUVIA BECAUSE TEARS ARE ALWAYS COMING OUT OF HER EYE’S LIKE RAIN.

  • My micro-chi, named She-Ra “Princess of Power”, gets called Princess of Poo, Baby Precious (sounds more like “Pessuss”), and Roo, or Ruff Grrrrl.

  • I have 2 chihuahuas.
Tia (my 7 yr old girl) nicknames include: Princess Tia or Lil Princess (because she is my lil Princess, she loves pretty things and being pampered); Ms. Wiggle Butt (when she is excited she does not just wag her tail , she wiggles her whole butt); Ms. Trouble (this is when she has a certain look like she did something naughty…)

Rocker (my 7 month old lil boy) nicknames include: lil Madman (at night he runs around like a crazy dog and dives into his snuggle bed at full speed, and once he is under the covers he starts making lil barking noises because he wants to play…it is real funny to watch…); lil Booger (this is when he is being a brat, or looking for trouble…); my lil Monkee Boy (because he is cute and silly)

For both of them I use the nickname of lil Munchkins (both of them are small and sweet…), and when I am calling them together (to go out, or just to come) I call them my lil Chichis.
I use the name Chichis when I am calling both of them. visit us at lilchichicreations.com

  • We have 2 rescue chihuahuas. Our first, Chili, has multiple nicknames. He wiggles a ton, so his official name is Mr. Chili Wiggle Pants, so he gets Wiggles, Mr. Wiggles, Mr. Pants, Senor Pants, etc. Our other, Bridgett, only has a few. I call her BB, Brigdhe (Breejoo), Pidgeon, and Piglet.

  • We have several chis, mostly rescue. We have Bipsy, aka Bipsy-booble,; Frannie, aka Frannie foo foo; Lilly, aka Weee-weeee, Buddy, aka Buddward, Lou, aka Louboy, and Chalina, aka Chi chi cocorama!

  • My Nickname For My Chihuahua Is Speedy Cause If You Put Him Down Without A Lead He Will Run On The Grass & Run Around In Circles. :P:P

  • I have to say that I love the name I gave my first chihuahua…FIESTA. She is a fiesty little chi. And I haven’t bumped into another dog named Fiesta 🙂 My little boy chi is named Napoleon. It is a fitting name for a little dog with a big attitude!

  • Our new one is called Pip, short for Pipsqueak!

  • Our little chi got his name “Peanut” because of his size & color, but most days he goes by “Peenie”. Love your site!

  • We have a 6 year old puppy mill rescue Chihuahua and she was so timid and scared when we got her. She was always behind me and I would try to turn around to see her and she would keep scooting to keep behind me until I finally caught up with her. (spinning in circles) We decided to name her peek-a-boo because she was always peeking out from behind me.

  • My one year old teacup is a loveable “terror”; gets in wastebaskets, chews on eyeglasses, headsets, earpieces, semi-potty trained…but he was the cutest, tiniest thing when I first got him so I decided he needed a small name: DIGIT!!!

  • We call our little girl chihuahua, Tootsie, “Tootsie Roll” (’cause she looks like one and she’s a little on the pudgy side!) or we call her “Tootie” or “TooBoo” 🙂

  • She’s not a Chihuahua, but Golly’s most frequent nickname is “princess” – and she is one!

  • We call our little male chihuahua, Chili, “Mr. Wiggle Pants” (cause he wiggles a ton!) or just, “Wiggles”, “Mr. Pants”, etc.

Our little girl chihuahua, Bridgett, gets called either “BB” or “Pidgeon”. I like to joke that she’s my little pony, since she moves like a horse and jumps like one!

  • We call our new puppy “puddles”
