conan the chihuahua that prays

At a Zen Buddhist temple in southern Japan, Conan the Chihuahua prays. Mimicking his master, priest Joei Yoshikuni, this one-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua joins in the daily prayers at Naha’s Shuri Kannondo temple.

Conan sits up on his hind legs and puts his front paws together before the altar. It took him only a few days to learn the motions, and now he is the talk of the town.

Conan’s master says that Conan goes through this prayer routine at the temple in the capital city of Japan’s southern Okinawa state before his morning and evening meals and now he is teaching Conan to meditate.
