ABBEY IS our 3 POUND CHIHUAHUA! SHE CAME TO US AFTER WE LOST OUR 16 YEAR OLD chihuahua NAMED SANDY. MY HUSBAND and I DECIDED WE WERE TO HEART BROKEN TO REPLACE OUR BABY and I SPENT many DAYS CRYING. SANDY WENT EVERYWHERE WITH US including WORK, SO MY LIFE felt EMPTY WITHOUT HER.
Even though I WAS NOT INTERESTED IN GETTING ANOTHER chihuahua BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WOULD BE REPLACING SANDY, I SPENT a lot of TIME JUST LOOKING AT PICTURES OF CHIHUAHUAS ON THE COMPUTER. I SAW ABBEY ON A WEBSITE and DIDN’T REALIZE SHE WAS UP FOR ADOPTION. I JUST THOUGHT SHE WAS ADORABLE and DIDN’T mention her to MY HUSBAND.
THE NEXT DAY MY HUSBAND HANDED ME A NAME and NUMBER OF A LADY WHO HAD ONE THAT WAS A YEAR OLD and THE LADY COULD NOT KEEP HER BECAUSE OF HER AGE. HE HAD GOTTEN THE NAME FROM OUR VET. I JUST PUT IT ASIDE FOR THE MOMENT and CRIED. I DIDN’T EVEN LOOK at HER NAME UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY WHEN I realized IT WAS THE SAME LADY THAT I had SEEN ON THE INTERNET!
IT WAS fate! My husband and I HAD CONNECTED WITH THE SAME dog and didn’t EVEN KNOW IT! I KNEW THAT WAS A MIRACLE and that little abbey WAS MEANT to be ours! WE WENT and GOT HER THAT very DAY and SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY WON OUR HEARTS.
WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT SHE WAS AN ORPHAN WHOSE MOTHER HAD DIED SOON AFTER HER BIRTH and SHE WAS DROPPER and BOTTLE FED as a puppy. IT WAS AMAZING SHE MADE IT! GOD MADE HER JUST FOR ME!
Abbey LOVES TO GO TO WORK WITH ME. WE HAVE A BUSINESS SO SHE GOES EVERYDAY and LAYS IN MY CHAIR BEHIND ME WHILE I WORK. Her FAVORITE TOY is NAMED BONEY and SHE KNOWS WHEN YOU TELL HER TO GET HIM! SHE IS A VERY SMART LITTLE dog and SO LOVED.
Abbey HELPED HEAL MY Broken HEART! I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH her! WE NAMED HER ABBEY JOY BECAUSE SHE has BROUGHT SO MUCH JOY into our lives!

Mrs neal, abbey is beautiful! your story warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes! My story was similar, losing my chihuahua after 16 yrs. I worked in animal control so my furbaby went to work with me everyday as well. last November i adopted another chihuahua after 3 years of missing my baby terribly. I realize i haven’t replaced my first furbaby, just added a new one. and he is unique in his own way!
Glad to hear the story, I’m sure you’ll have wonderful times for years to come with abbey. Btw she looks soooo cute with the collar.
So sorry for the loss of your precious little loved one but congratulations on getting ABBey. She is adorable and sounds like it was meant to be. Nothing can take the place of your other baby but is wonderful to have that void filled in your life. Hope you will have many years together!
